Working with graphs

Updated 27 days ago

Graphs make it easy to visualize functions, making complex information easier to understand at a glance. Discover how you can quickly create and customize them with MyScript Math.

Create a graph

To create a graph, simply tap on your function with your finger and select Insert graph.

We suggest using defined variables for greater flexibility. For example, if you set ‘a = 3’, you can graph ‘y = 2x + a’. Adjusting the value of ‘a’ will automatically update the graph in real time. If the function changes to something you can’t graph, the graph will automatically disappear.

Display multiple functions on a graph

You can display several functions on the same graph.

  1. Create a first graph from a function.
  2. Write another function in the same math note.
  3. Tap the function and select Enable in graphs.

This adds your function to the closest graph. It is also added to a hidden pool of available functions, allowing you to enable it on other graphs if needed.

To display additional functions on a graph:

  1. Tap an existing graph.
  2. Select which enabled functions should appear on that graph.

Customize your graphs

Each function is assigned a default color when displayed on a graph. To change the color:

  1. Tap your graph.
  2. Tap the color icon of the function you want to modify.
  3. Choose a new color.

You can also customize the default color and background of your graphs. Adjust these settings in the Preferences menu.

Manage your graphs

To manage your graph, tap it to reveal options such as Cut, Copy, Resize, or Delete. Alternatively, use the lasso tool to access these options. Once selected, simply drag the corner handles to resize the graph to fit your needs seamlessly.

Your graph is fully expandable — take advantage of the flexibility! Simply tap on the graph and use two fingers to swipe and navigate with ease.
