Importing images

Add reference material to your math notes by taking a photo, importing an image from your library, or scanning a full page. MyScript Math can then recognize the math inside it and walk you through the solution step by step — just like it does for handwritten equations.
Add an image
To add an image, tap the icon in the toolbar, and choose how you want to add your image:
- Take photo opens your camera so you can snap a picture and add it directly to your note.
- Browse library opens your photo library so you can pick an existing image.
- Browse Files opens the documents on your iOS device so you can add an existing document to your notes.
- Scan document lets you take a photo of a document and adjust its corners so it lines up as a clean scan.
Once you’ve taken or selected your image, MyScript Math adds it to your note automatically.
Solve an image step by step
MyScript Math can recognize the math written inside it and solve it step by step. Select your image, then tap Solve step by step in the menu that appears. The step-by-step solution opens in a panel, breaking down the calculation just as it would for a handwritten equation.
Copy/paste an image
You can also copy an image — for example, by long pressing it on a webpage — and paste it into your note. MyScript Math supports these image formats: PNG, JPEG, SVG, WebP, and GIF.
If you’re working in split screen, you can also drag an image straight from another app or a webpage into your note.
Work with your image
When you add an image, MyScript Math places it in the center of your note with enough space around it so the whole image stays visible. The image is automatically selected, so you can act on it right away.
With the image selected, you can:
- Crop image — Trim the image down to just the part you need.
- Copy, Cut, or Duplicate — Reuse the image elsewhere in your note.
- Delete — Remove the image from your note.
To bring up these options again later, just select the image.
