Mastering note types in Nebo

Nebo offers four note formats—notebooks, documents, boards, and PDFs—each tailored to different needs and note-taking styles. All formats share a base of powerful features that make note-taking seamless.

When creating a notebook, a document or a board, you must choose the language you’ll write in. Once your note is created, you can’t change the language.

Notebooks

Notebooks offer an easy way to keep your notes organized with a traditional fixed-page layout. Write, type, sketch, and add images, then easily convert your handwriting to keep everything tidy. You can create as many pages as you need, and thumbnails make it simple to navigate through them.

Fixed-size pages—Choose your preferred format and use it for all your notebook pages.
Handwriting recognition—Convert handwritten text into digital text by using the lasso.
Zoomable pages—Use the zoom feature to focus on specific sections of your notebook.
Page customization—Choose page size, orientation, color, and background pattern.

Documents

Documents let you take structured notes with unlimited scrolling, giving you endless space for your ideas. While zoom isn’t available, you can write, type, and create dedicated blocks for sketches, diagrams, or math equations. Easily convert your content with a double tap.

Boards

Boards offer a zoomable, expandable canvas perfect for freeform notes, brainstorming, mind mapping, and visual thinking. They offer endless space to organize ideas without the limitations of structured pages, making them ideal for creative and dynamic note-taking.

PDFs

You can import files as PDFs in Nebo, no matter the original format. This option is great for reviewing documents, adding comments, or quickly filling out and signing forms. Duplicate pages, add blank ones, or export only selected pages.
