Backing up and restoring your notes
Backing up your notes is key to ensure that your important information is never lost. With regular backups, you can safeguard your data and recover it whenever needed.
Back up your notes
A backup is a duplicate of your notes saved in a different location from the original. This copy serves as a safeguard, allowing you to restore your data in the event of loss or corruption.
- Open the Notes side panel.
- Tap the ... icon in the top-right corner.
- Tap Settings, then choose Backup.
- Tap Back up library.
- Choose a storage location for your backup file, then tap Save.
Restore your notes
Restoring your library from a backup will overwrite any changes made to your notes since the last backup.
- Open the Notes side panel.
- Tap the ... icon in the top-right corner.
- Tap Settings, then choose Backup.
- Tap Restore from backup.
- Browse to your backup file, and tap on it.
- Tap Restore to validate.
Restore a single note
It is also possible to restore a single note from your backup file.
- Rename your .nebobackup file to have a .zip extension.
- Open the zip file to view your Nebo collections.
- Open the collection and long press the note you want.
- Tap Share and choose Nebo.
- Choose where you want to add the note in Nebo.
If a note with the same name already exists, the new one will be saved with (1) added to the name.
Regular backups
We recommend routinely backing up your notes in a secure location and ensuring that a copy is safely stored on a second device.
Synchronization vs. backup
Synchronization and backup are distinct processes. Syncing ensures that changes in your notes are updated across all devices, while backup provides a separate copy of your notes for data restoration.
