Creating your notes

Creating notes in Nebo is easy, and with different formats to choose from, there’s something for every need—whether you’re jotting down ideas, taking class notes, sketching, or annotating a PDF.

Create a notebook

  1. Open the folder view.
  2. Tap Create in the top-right corner, then choose New notebook.
  3. Enter a name, pick a color icon, and customize your pages by selecting the size, orientation, color, and pattern.
  4. Choose the language you'll write in.
  1. If your language is not available, tap Manage languages at the bottom.
  2. Find your language in the list and tap the Download icon to add it.

Create a board

  1. Open the folder view.
  2. Tap Create in the top-right corner, then choose New board.
  3. Enter a name, then pick a color and pattern for your pages.
  4. Choose the language you'll write in.
  1. If your language is not available, tap Manage languages at the bottom.
  2. Find your language in the list and tap the Download icon to add it.

Create a document

  1. Open the folder view.
  2. Tap Create in the top-right corner, then choose New document.
  3. Enter a name and choose a color for your pages.
  4. Choose the language you'll write in.

  2. Find your language in the list and tap the Download icon to add it.

Import a file as PDF

  1. Open the folder view.
  2. Tap Create in the top-right corner, then choose Import as PDF...
  3. Browse and select your file.

Import a .nebo file

  1. Go to where your note is saved on your device.
  2. Long press it and tap Share.
  3. Choose the notebook to save it in.
  1. Open Nebo and tap in the top-right.
  2. Tap Import...
  3. Browse and select your file.
  4. Choose the notebook to save it in.
  1. Go to where your note is saved on your device.
  2. Double tap or double-click your file.
  3. Choose the notebook to save it in.

Use shortcuts

iOS

Apple shortcuts let you quickly create or access content in Nebo. Just make sure you're using Nebo 6.2 or later with iOS 15 or higher. You'll need iOS 18 or higher for Control Center and Spotlight search. The Shortcuts app allows you to create notebooks and boards, as well as open notes and folders.

  1. Swipe down from the top-right edge of your device to open the Control Center.
  2. Tap + at the top, then Add a Control at the bottom.
  3. Search for Nebo options like Create notebook or Create board.
  4. Add your choice, and the icons will appear in the Control Center.
  5. Resize icons for easier use if needed.
