Managing your settings

Nebo lets you customize your note-taking experience. You can adjust display settings, pen preferences, writing options, and interaction modes. Choose between light or dark mode, tweak handwriting recognition, and modify pen gestures for a setup that’s comfortable and efficient.

Adjust display settings

Nebo supports both light and dark modes to match your environment or personal preference.

1. Open the Notes side panel.
2. Tap the ... button at the top-right corner, then choose Settings.
3. Tap Display.
4. Choose a Light, Dark, or device-based display setting.

Set writing settings

Nebo lets you adjust your writing settings to ensure an optimal writing experience. Choose your writing position and pen type to make note-taking easier and more personal.

Writing position

You can configure the writing position for a more comfortable experience.

1. Open the Notes side panel.
2. Tap the ... button at the top-right corner, then choose Settings.
3. Tap Pen, then choose Writing position.
4. Choose the writing position that looks similar to yours.

Active or passive pen

Nebo works best with active pens, but also supports passive (or capacitive) pens and finger input.

1. Open the Notes side panel.
2. Tap the ... button at the top-right corner, then choose Settings.
3. Tap Pen.
4. Toggle the Use active pen button to turn it on or off.

Conversion preview

The conversion preview shows how your handwritten text will look after being converted. If it’s not accurate, you can tap it with your pen and choose a different option.

To enable or disable the conversion preview:

1. Open the Notes side panel.
2. Tap the ... button at the top-right corner, then choose Settings.
3. Tap Writing.
4. Enable or disable Conversion preview.

Text display

Adjust how converted text appears for clarity and personalization.

1. Open the Notes side panel.
2. Tap the ... button at the top-right corner, then choose Settings.
3. Tap Writing, then Text display.
4. Adjust the font size and line height to your preference.

Language recognition

You can download a language when creating a note or add more languages later in the settings. This improves recognition and keeps things running smoothly.

1. Open the Notes side panel.
2. Tap the ... button at the top-right corner, then choose Settings.
3. Tap Writing, then Languages.
4. Find the language you want and tap the icon to download it.

Colors

You can easily customize the colors in your notes' toolbar to match your preferences. If you want to switch back to the original palette, you can reset it anytime in the settings.

1. Open the Notes side panel.
2. Tap the ... button at the top-right corner.
3. Choose Settings, then Writing.
4. Tap Restore colors, then again to confirm.

Configure pen gestures

Gestures make editing faster with quick pen movements. You can customize some of them to perform actions based on your needs.

Underline and strike-through

Nebo allows you to customize how underlined and strikethrough content is handled, giving you greater control and flexibility.

1. Open the Notes side panel.
2. Tap the ... button at the top-right corner.
3. Choose Settings, then Interactions.

For each note format (board, document, and PDF), decide if:

• striking through should be displayed as a strike-through, erase your content or be left as is.
• underlining should be displayed as underlined, bold or left as is.

Tap for keyboard

By default, tapping on an empty space in your note will bring up the keyboard, allowing you to start typing instantly. If you prefer to disable this feature, follow these steps:

1. Tap the ... button in the top-right corner of your note.
2. Tap Advanced.
3. Toggle off the Tap for keyboard option.

Adjust math settings

With Nebo, you can easily adjust how your equations look and work. Choose if results are rounded or truncated, set angles to degrees or radians, and decide whether equations solve automatically or need manual input.

1. Open the Notes side panel.
2. Tap the ... button in the top-right corner.
3. Choose Settings, then Math.
4. Enable or disable the Solving feature.
5. Choose Truncated or Rounded.
6. Choose Degree or Radian.

Update your background

Nebo lets you customize backgrounds to enhance your notes. Pick a background when creating a note or change it later to suit your needs.

1. Open your note.
2. Tap the ... menu in the top-right corner.
3. Tap Background.
4. Choose your preferred background color and pattern.
