Using math equations and formulas
Nebo makes working with equations and formulas easy. Write, edit, and convert them directly in your notes—perfect for math and science. Solve simple calculations easily and edit with your pen for instant updates.
Write and convert math content
In notebooks, boards and PDFs, write your equation anywhere, select it using the lasso tool, and tap Convert... then Math and convert your equation.
In documents, math content need to be added as objects:
- Double tap an empty space and choose Math from the menu.
- Write your equation in the math object using your pen.
- Double tap your handwritten equation to convert it.
Select math content
In notebooks, boards, and PDFs, use the lasso to select handwritten content. For converted math, you can use the lasso or just tap it.
In documents, you can select both handwritten and converted with a tap or by using the lasso.
Edit math content
In notebooks, boards and PDFs:
- Move—Tap and drag the equation to reposition it.
- Resize—Tap the equation, choose Resize and drag its corners to adjust the size.
- Cut, Copy and Delete—Tap the equation to see these options.
In documents:
- Move—Tap and drag the equation to reposition it.
- Resize—Tap and drag the corners of the equation to adjust the size.
- Cut, Copy and Delete—Select the equation, then ... to see these options.
Edit math settings
With Nebo, you can easily adjust how your equations look and work. Choose if results are rounded or truncated, set angles to degrees or radians, and decide whether equations solve automatically or need manual input.
To adjust these settings:
- Select your equation.
- Tap ... in the top-right corner.
- Choose Truncated or Rounded.
- Choose Degree or Radian.
- Enable or disable the Solving feature.
Copy/paste math equations into LaTeX
Nebo allows you to copy/paste your Math equation into a LaTeX editor, and to obtain a LaTeX format.
- Write your equation.
- In documents, tap ... on your math object and choose Copy. In notebooks, boards, or PDFs, use the lasso to select your equation and choose Copy.
- Paste it into your LaTeX editor to see your equation converted in LaTeX.
Supported symbols and operators
Nebo supports include horizontal equations, equations with one unknown using '?', rounded or truncated results, angle units in degrees or radians, and basic functions like |x|, 1/x, √, ln, log, e^x, x^y, x² and x!. See the full list of supported math symbols and operators below. Missing something? Add it to the user dictionary.
